Holiday Shopping at Jewels in Paradise

Today I visited Jewels in Paradise for a little "treat yourself" moment and to get ready for the holiday season! For those that don't know, Jewels in Paradise is a fine jewelry store located at the Ritz Carlton in Aruba. I discovered Jewels in Paradise on Instagram earlier this year and I particularly fell in love with their John Hardy collection who is known for bold designs and meticulous attention to details. My favorite thing about this brand is that each piece has a meaning and inspiration behind it!

#FunFact: John Hardy jewelry is inspired by the province of  Bali and its time-honored jewelry-making traditions. John Hardy is a Canadian designer and established an artisan collective in 1975 dedicated to creating one-of-a-kind jewelry and preserving the rich heritage of Bali. He crafts all jewelry by hand, one piece at a time, through a unique 8-step process.

The iconic Classic Chain bracelet for example, takes an artisan 4 days to weave by hand. The process starts with a hand-sketched and watercolor design, followed by a wax carving and master casting of the piece, and it ends with the hand-setting of each gemstone.

For all campaigns, John Hardy always chooses one strong female. These females are referred to as Legends (goals right?!) and this is how the hashtag #MadeForLegends was created.

Some examples of these Legendary women are Penelope Cruz, Adwoa Aboah and Julianne Moore. This is why I love this collection so much, it shows that women can be vulnerable and powerful at the same time which shows strength (Yay women power!).

My picks

my favorite collection by far is the Legends collection. This consists of three animals: cobra (snake in balinese), naga (dragon in balinese) and the eagle. There is a special meaning behind the way you wear these pieces. When you wear the face of the dragon towards you for example, it symbolizes love and abundance and when you wear the face outwards, it symbolizes protection.
